Descriptant
The elephant-tamp command: read (Mova reads every ROOT/*/eprint.md into the cache), build (nodes,
importance, compression), controls (the negative controls) and probe (statements using a lemma). Flags set
Options (tau, min papers, min cosine, min typicality, min lift, max anchor share, min score, jobs, graph).
Approximant
argv -> (command, positional paths, flags) -> one library call -> one JSON value (or TSV for probe) on stdout.
An unknown command or missing argument prints the usage and fails.
Invariant
Flags only override defaults; a malformed number is ignored (the default stays). Nothing is written outside the given STORE / OUT directories.
Cost
That of the library call.
Composition
Calls read::scan, read::read_all, build::run, build::controls, corpus::Corpus::load.
Tests
Exercised end to end by the 2026-11-06 runs (README measurements); no unit test of its own.
Behavior complement
Does not validate flag ranges, does not lock OUT against a concurrent build, does not delete earlier outputs.
Reverse reconstruction
The JSON summary names its parameters (params, anchor_params, graph path), so a build's options are recoverable
from its output; the paper list is recoverable from OUT/papers.
