mova-nightingale-consult

The groupant beside tools/nightingale/src/consult.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

Facts

Implementation material. A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

Model text

Descriptant

The Nightingale's own Sol: profile, journaled bounded questions with the Elephant's consultant rules, the question text and the strict answer parser. Source: tools/nightingale/src/consult.rs.

Forward approximant

submit: operator_word -> own terminal -> bounded text -> hash not journaled -> ready -> reserved -> ask -> answered/limit/failed; question: at most 10 items; parse: one line per item, four columns, a known verdict.

Invariant

No word, no question; a question is asked at most once; answers are evidence only.

Cost

One terminal question per call; pacing 1 800 s by default.

Composition

Parent: nightingale.

Behavior complement

Never writes a model, list or manual; never retries. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

Reverse reconstruction

sol.jsonl keeps every question's hash, size, profile and outcome.

Tests

Checks

consult::tests. These are finite fixtures and measurements; not a proof.

Epoch 2026-11-06

First model, written with the source (the Nightingale: one per language under the Eel; a standard naturalness model with variety deltas).
