mova-nightingale-ask

The groupant beside tools/nightingale/src/ask.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

Facts

Implementation material. A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

Model text

Descriptant

The question reader over Mova's parse: quotations, the frames natural, use and compare, the named language, style and dialect words, and the English answers. Source: tools/nightingale/src/ask.rs.

Forward approximant

quotes -> rest parsed -> negation and several sentences refused -> language (other language pointed elsewhere) -> variety label composed -> frame -> judge -> realized English.

Invariant

Reads only; anything else is not its own and goes to the deputy.

Cost

One parse of the question plus the judgements.

Composition

Parent: nightingale.

Behavior complement

Never acts; never answers another language. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

Reverse reconstruction

The answer JSON keeps the judgement it realized.

Tests

Checks

ask::tests; tests/english.rs. These are finite fixtures and measurements; not a proof.

History

Epoch 2026-11-06

First model, written with the source (the Nightingale: one per language under the Eel; a standard naturalness model with variety deltas).
